Government analysis and evidence professions

The UK Civil Service plans and implements the Government's policies and administers most public services.

GORS is one of a group of professional bodies that provide analysis and gather evidence to support policy and decision making, as part of the Government Analysis Function.

• Government Economic Service (GES)
• Government Geography Profession
• Government Actuary’s Department
• Digital Data and Technology Profession

Data Science

Data science is not a government profession in its own right. Data scientists may be members of GORS, the GSS or Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) depending on recruitment pathway, skillset, and preference.
